I can’t begin to say enough great things about this personally customized tour. My husband and I did a private Douro valley wine tour for our final day in Porto and had an amazing experience. We were incredibly fortunate to have Alex as our guide and driver! His knowledge and passion for wine and the entire region elevated our experience. He was very personable and ensured we enjoyed every moment throughout the day. We visited two small, family owned vineyards. We had the opportunity to spend time with the owners and winemakers learning about their specific methods for producing truly world-class products. We had an intimate lunch at our first vineyard, Maos, with a multi-course family style meal perfectly paired with their delicious wines. Rafael took the time to speak with us at length regarding his family’s historic vineyard and answer many of our questions about winemaking. At our second stop, Quinta do Cume, we were able to see the production process in real time having arrived during harvest season. Leila took time out of her busy day to share her passion for winemaking and we also were fortunate to ask questions to both her and one of the owners. It was an experience we will never forget!!
